 About Us

Southern Community Capital is different because its purpose is the development of the areas in which it operates.  Our drive is to develop and redevelop areas of the southern United States by assisting the small-to-medium size enterprises (SME’s) that are the backbone of our economy.  We care because this is our home.  We are a part of these communities and we want our future success tied to the future success of all of those with whom we share these wonderful places.

Our Mission

Through the use of equity, debt, and business expertise, Southern Community Capital will provide the capital and assistance necessary for small-to-medium size enterprises to succeed in developing the Southern United States.

Company Profile

Our target market is focused on, but not limited to, the SME’s in the general Gulf Coast Region affected by hurricane Katrina and Rita that offer strong balance sheets comprised of income generating fixed assets.  These particular SME’s must provide for the long-term development of the local economy through job generation and local investment.  Our fund objectives are to create a (1) a positive financial return, (2) a positive social return (e.g. quality jobs, labor force/live skills training, childcare, healthcare, English as a second language, local community orientation), (3) a positive environmental return (recycling, public transportation, water conservation & reuse, renewable energy, environmental remediation)

New Orleans, Biloxi, Gulf Port, Beaumont and the rest of the central gulf coast was ravaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  Thousands of people were lost, homes were lost, towns were lost, and even counties and parishes were lost to the raging waters of the Gulf of Mexico.  The people of these areas are still suffering as a result of slow economic recovery.  There is an opportunity to use our skill set to aid the economic recovery that is necessary for a successful future on the gulf coast.
